Migrate NG Firewall to a new server

There are essentially 4 parts to re-installing or changing hardware:

  1. Create a backup of your settings
  2. Obtain and install the NG Firewall OS
  3. Transfer Subscriptions
  4. Restore your backup file 

==Create a backup of your settings==

  1. Log into your NG Firewall Admin page from a remote PC
  2. Go to Config > System > Backup
  3. Create a backup file and save it to your remote PC


==To install NG Firewall onto your new server==

  1. Go to and download the latest version of our software. Select to download either the .iso (writing to CD) or .img (writing to USB)
  2. Write the image file to your boot media
  3. Plug it into your server and boot from the media
  4. Walk through the installation setup
  5. Set up the IP addressing information on the external and internal interface to make sure the server is at least on-line before doing anything else

==To restore your configurations==

  1. Log into your NG Firewall Admin page from a remote PC that you have the backup file saved
  2. Go to Config > System > Restore
  3. Locate the file and restore
  4. Let it run for 10-15 minutes
